Lufthansa Cargo Group has
promoted David Albaiceta General
Manager in Asia. A Spanish national
with experience in the field of special
logistics, he succeeds Eric Erbacher.
Albaiceta has served as a Managing
Director for World Courier in Bangkok
and as Business Development & Sales
Manager for time:matters in Singapore,
where he helped set up the Asian
branch of the company that belongs to
the Lufthansa Group. Albaiceta,
who was appointed Manager for Asia in
August, will work with the Charter team
in Hong Kong. With an additional base
in Singapore, he will also be responsible
for promoting the development of Asian
markets.

Christian Delcourt has been named
Communication Manager at Liege
Airport, succeeding Vincent Gernay.
Delcourt will direct external and internal
communications and serve as chief contact for the media. He will hold the role
of Liege Airport spokesman with
Béa-trice Camus (Public Relations) together
with the President and the Managing
Director. A member of the Board of Direction of the Walloon Airports Company
from 2002-2007,
Delcourt is familiar
with airport policy in
the region. Gernay is
now serving as Project Manager at Liege
Airport.
Susan M. Baer,
a veteran aviation
executive at the Port Authority
of New York and New Jersey,
has become its first woman director of
aviation. Baer, who has spent 21 years
in various aviation roles at the agency,
replaces William R. DeCota, who died
in September. “Sue is the natural person
to help this agency carry on Bill DeCota’s
extraordinary aviation legacy,” Port Authority Chairman Anthony Coscia said
in a statement announcing the appointment. “Her lengthy, hands-on experience
at the region’s airports is unmatched,
and I have no doubt she will continue
the agency’s proud tradition of leadership on aviation issues, nationally and
globally.” Baer, who has held the aviation
department’s second highest post since
last year, will oversee John F. Kennedy International, Newark
Liberty International,
LaGuardia, Stewart International and
Teterboro airports. She also will
focus on NextGen satellite navigation
technology and encourage airspace improvements to help reduce flight delays
and maintain safety in the New York/New
Jersey region, the Port Authority said.

Federal Ex Trade Networks,
the global freight forwarding arm of
FedEx Corp., has named Fred Schardt
president and chief executive officer. In
his new role, Schardt will provide strategic direction of FedEx Trade Networks,
overseeing the company’s global operations and product portfolio. Schardt has
more than 35 years experience in the
international freight forwarding, transportation and logistics industries. He
joined FedEx Trade Networks in 2008
as executive vice president and chief
operating officer. During this time, he
realigned operations and standardized
offerings. He will lead an aggressive
global expansion plan that is to include
an increased freight-forwarding presence
in Asia, Latin America,
Europe, Africa and the
Middle East.
Calif.-based
FreightScan, LLC
has promoted Patrick
Klacka from Senior
Software Engineer to
the new post of Director of System Engineering. Klacka joined FreightScan in June
2008. In his new role, he will develop
and maintain the systems engineering
processes and training for all products,
including system architecture, development, testing and maintenance. Prior to
joining FreightScan, he spent three years
with General Atomics Aeronautical Systems. He also worked on
laser tracking and laser communication
devices while associated with Trex Enterprises Corp.
Meneghin & Partner (M&P),
a leading Swiss consultancy for the transport and logistics industry, has named
Sabine Wetzel a partner. Wetzel, who
joined Meneghin & Partner in 2005 as
head of the Research Department, has
international experience in forwarding,
logistics and executive search. Ursula
F. Schmeling has also joined the company as partner. She will lead the new
business unit PR and media communications. Also, company founder Bruno
Meneghin has retired, relinquishing his
position as head of the supervisory board

UK-based Air Logistics Group
has expanded its reach in Central Europe with the launch of a new office at
Sofia Airport in Bulgaria. Opened Oct. 1,
the office is headed by Ivaylo Atanas-ov, who joined the company from a large
integrator. “This is a strategic part of our
development plans for the Central European region,” said Jindıich Hudeıek,
Regional Director Central Europe. The
GSSA has already secured agreements
with some key airline accounts and its
experienced team “is all set to provide
professional cargo outsourcing services
to our airline partners from this region,”
